SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — It’s a monumental day for San Francisco’s Mission District. Latinos are the demographic with the highest number of COVID-19 cases not only in San Francisco, but statewide, and a new neighborhood vaccination hub means the city is listening. Their plan is to vaccinate 120 people a day and work their way up from there.

“It has arrived and it is such an amazing moment for the community. Specially a community who is still experiencing a 14% positivity rate,” said Jon Jacobo with the Latino Task Force.

San Francisco opened its first neighborhood coronavirus vaccination site in the Mission District on Monday, with plans to open a second in the Bayview in the coming days.

In a parking lot on the corner of 24th and Capp streets, city and state officials cheered as the leaders of two Latino nonprofits who have been serving the community throughout the pandemic received their first shots. The Mission site is part of a growing network of vaccine clinics that offer hope for the end of the pandemic, city leaders said, even as San Francisco struggles with limited vaccine supply.

Atherton continued its reign during the pandemic last year as the most expensive real estate market in the Bay Area, topping even the sky-high prices of San Francisco’s most exclusive neighborhoods, a new report showed.

The San Mateo County town, which has attracted ultra-wealthy tech executives and sports figures among its home buyers, had a median sales price of $6.35 million last year, according to the report from Compass Real Estate, a residential brokerage firm based in New York.

San Francisco’s tony Pacific Heights neighborhood came in second, with a median price of $5.625 million.

Lincoln neighborhood creates Black History Coloring Book

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Lincoln’s South of Downtown Community Development Organization is using Black History Month to showcase and honor black business owners and leaders across the Capital City. They’re doing it all through their Black History Coloring Book.

San Francisco opens neighborhood COVID vaccination site in Mission District

San Francisco unveiled a new COVID-19 vaccination site in the Mission District on Monday as part of a joint effort to secure equitable access to the vaccine in hard-hit neighborhoods.
