A three-alarm blaze destroyed a multi-family home in Stoneham Saturday, fire officials said.First responders rushed to the home on Hersam Street and found heavy smoke and fire shooting from the top floors of the multi-story home. Stoneham Fire Chief Matt Grafton said firefighters attempted to search the three-family home to check if anyone was inside, but quickly had to evacuate due to the intensity of the smoke and flames.Everyone inside the home was later accounted for, fire officials said. Grafton said a neighbor woke up a family that was inside at the time. They were able to escape without injury. A dog that lives inside of the home was also rescued. The American Red Cross was contacted to help assist the families who lived inside. The cause of the fire was under investigation.

Stoneham Fire Chief Matt Grafton said firefighters attempted to search the three-family home to check if anyone was inside, but quickly had to evacuate due to the intensity of the smoke and flames.
