Facebook knows it. So do Servpro, firearms manufacturer Beretta and the Nashville Predators hockey team. Now one of the country’s largest homebuilders is giving its own vote of confidence to Gallatin and Sumner County as one of the most desirable destinations in the Nashville region.

Meritage Homes, the country’s sixth-largest public homebuilding company, has launched the new Newmans Crossing neighborhood in Gallatin. The community will have 98 energy-efficient townhomes designed to appeal to first-time buyers. Prices start in the high $200,000s.

“We’re excited to offer first-time buyers in Gallatin much more than a no-frills entry-level home by incorporating Meritage’s industry-leading energy efficiency and other upgraded features at an affordable price,” said Dave Bulloch, division president for Meritage Homes in Nashville.

Newmans Crossing offers two different floorplans ranging from about 1,650 to 1,810 square feet. The neighborhood is located off Long Hollow Pike and Big Station Camp Boulevard. The sales center’s address is 221 Breaking Pen Road. Buyers can tour two decorated model homes.

Newmans Crossing offers two different floorplans ranging from about 1,650 to 1,810 square feet.

“In addition to being zoned for top-rated Station Camp Schools, Newmans Crossing is situated in a prime location, next door to a new Publix, the Station Camp Greenway and offers easy access to local retail, dining and entertainment,” said Bulloch.

Newmans Crossing follows on Meritage’s success building townhomes in the nearby Foxland Harbor golf community.

It isn’t surprising that Sumner County is catching the attention of national builders, said Realtor Aaron Dwyer.
